Interview with a Farmer’s Daughter

By Rohit Kumar

Simran, a 19-year-old student from Puranpur in Uttar Pradesh, has chosen to accompany her father, who is a farmer on protest at the Ghazipur border on the Delhi Meerut highway.

She wakes up every morning at 6 AM and the first thing she does is pray for the farmers’ strength, and that they will get what is rightfully their due.

It is one thing to pontificate from the comfort of one’s home. It is quite another to show solidarity with the suffering by actually living with them on the road in the biting cold.
